I just have to to say this because a) I have no one where else to say it, and b) it bugs me every time I read a "review" about red/green dot sights. I am a relative "newb" to AR's but even the simplest of observations and yes, THINKING, could solve the most common "problems" I read about.
Dot sight manufacturers assume you posses/have corrected your vision so that it is 20/20. Its a 1x sight! If you wear glasses to see, leave them on when you shoot. If its still blurry go to the optometrist. Also, do not look at the dot! Look at the target (This is the opposite what you are trained to do with iron-sights, but trust me). If none of these work then you will have to spend more than the $30 on your sight.
That's because the red is for darker conditions. Green dot is for day time.

PS: I will give one guess as to how I know all of these things...
"It gets blurry sometimes / The green dot is more blurry / All I see is a star, comma, blob..."
