Would the Raven qualify? or is there another pistol that this is referring to?

just (half) kidding. I had a Raven once and it did go bang every time I pulled the trigger,,,,least for 50 rounds anyhow. Never had a problem with it other than the cost of ammo.

Don't get your hopes up, the Phoenix they're referring to was made in the early 1900's in Lowell MA. I happen to have one of those, it's a pretty scarce gun. It's pretty much a direct copy of a Melior pistol AFAIK.

I thought Japanese pistols were ugly. That has to be the ugliest pistol I've ever seen.

If I was carrying that thing and somebody attacked me, I'd just go ahead and let them kill me.

I'd be too embarrassed to pull that thing out. :D
