we're complacent, (we as in the American people. We've had over two hundred years of freedom. We haven't been invaded since 1812. The American people have never really been under the iron boot. So, we just go from day to day, assuming that tyranny and oppression only happen in eastern europe, asia, and africa. The average american thinks "I'm in america! My freedoms are safe because of the constitution, and the american people would never stand for tyranny or opression. So, when our rights are slowly eroded away, we pay no notice. We simply assume everything's the same as its always been. The fact is, in the two hundred something years since America was founded, the hearts of men have not changed. There is still a craving for power, and corruption in government. And in that lies the ground work for tyranny and oppression.
I have to wonder if things will ever get better. They only seem to get worse. I'm taking Criminal Justice in college. Perhaps I'll stay in the military after college. I don't know about a career in civilian law enforcement these days.
