Hello my name is Rich and am new to the Forum. Please excuse me if I'm posting a redundant question or in the wrong place. I am interested in buying a gun safe and have been looking at the Heritage Safe Co. the Regal series. Does anyone have any experience with their product, customer service, etc.
I am open to other products as long as it's not Chinese or super expensive!

Any of your top-name safes are good. Many are made by the same company with different brand names. Get one with the features you want, like movable shelves/racks, dial or digital lock, fire rating, etc. Get one about 1.5 times larger than you think you'll ever need.

We bought a Field and Stream from Dick's on sale and we're happy with it.
 
That page does give some good basic information, but there is also information in there that isn't exactly accurate.

Welcome to reality. About 85+% of the stuff available for sale in the US is made elsewhere, and a LOT of it in China. When the US can match the price, I'll buy. If you insist you can buy all American made, you make far more than anyone should.

I carry a Steyr - made in Austria, and a Springfield - made in Croatia. I also carry a Bersa - made in Argentina, and a Taurus - made in Brazil. Glocks are made in Austria. So, what handgun do YOU carry? Isolationism won't work any more.
 
And be careful about "Assembled in the USA", which can simply mean the item was made in China and then a China Mart employee assembled the item in store.

I don't know about that particular safe, but on their website the Sentry Group, who make F&S safes, state "Many of our products are made in the USA."
 
In the safe business, if they omit the "made in the USA" graphic, it's usually imported.

I do not have a problem with imported safes, as some of the best safes on the market are built outside the US. I sell both imported and domestically manufacturered units.

Gun safe manufacturers tend to be dishonest about a lot of things. If they do not advertise that it's made in the US, it's probably not. If they do advertise that it's made in the US, then it might be.

I have encountered a few safe companies that claim that their Chinese safes are made here in the US.
 
I too have been shopping for a safe. Right now I'm leaning towards Sun Welding Co. Been looking at their Renegade safe. They've been around awhile and are made in either Kentucky or Tennessee, I can't remember which. You might wanna goggle them up for a look-see. Happy safe hunting.

Did you look at Sturdy Safe Co. www.sturdysafe.com from Fresno California. They are 100% US made down to the Sargent And Greenleaf Premium Grade Group II Combination Lock Model 6730 which is the high quality commercial version not the residential version.

The standard safe they make uses a 7 ga steel body with a 5/16" steel door. There are a lot of clever design features built into their safes and very little by way of linkage to defeat or break. Their design is very simple and robust and very well made.

They use high quality fire lining materials such as 2300 degree F ceramic wool instead of sheet rock like many gun safe manufacturers.

I'm an engineer with 18 years of experience in the metals industry and it is clear to me that the folks who put the safe I received together really know metal fabrication. Hot welds, hard plate protecting the linkage and combo box, reinforced door etc.

I bought a safe from them for $2010 delivered with some additional options. It is 36"W,27"D,60"H and has custom shelving, pistol racks and a heater. I didn't get the fire lining because I'm enclosing with concrete panels.

Its a half ton peace of steel with a door on it!

why does it matter if its made in usa or not? am i missing something? i really dont understand. but my family will never buy a truck or car made in a communist country! but everything else is okay.
