Well folk's l lied
hope you like the picture. it was one of my project 1911's. it has been completly redone. 11/2 to 1" gr at 25 & 30 yards. never ftf are anything that you normally hear about 1911 eats ammo of all types like cotton candy. it is my utility field gun, it has proving reliable and accurate. it was fun to re-do and refinish,no nim are cast parts on this one.

i used brownell's bake on finish on some surplus gun's that i have, and it has held up very good. so after stippling the froint strape and mainspring housing. and replacing all slide and frame parts. i thought of a good durable finish, would be my final touch. i went with O.D GREEN, i daub this 1911 sweetpea". i handle this gun around home range and out in the field alot. so now it resist sweat and moister[no rusting] from handling,i didnt want to have to nurse mate this gun,as much as i would have done, if it was
blued.
all i hade to do was prep, remove oil and i removed the bluing. heated with hair dryer, and sprayed a couple of light coats of bake on paint. it was exstremly easy to do. just follow instructions on can.
the smell is'nt all that bad:rolleyes: it was'nt to me anyway,my wife did'nt like it much:D i polish and hand fitted each part, and adjusted what was needed it. it one sweet shooting gun.
i have other handguns, but this one has proven to be the one i handle and use the most.
