Henry's Long Ranger in 5.56/.223 (anyone have one or shoot one yet)

Has anyone bought and tested this rifle yet? I've only seen minimal reviews and they aren't much different than what's in the Henry catalog. I have found out it's a 1 in 9 twist.

I've worked with the .308, good rifle.
There's a Kindle review available through Amazon.com.

Denis, since you seem to be the only person around to have actually seen/handled the Long Ranger, can you provide any insight into the shipping status? I'd really like to get my hands on one in .223.

You're welcome.
Apparently still working on the magazine set-up for the .223 & they won't release the gun till they've got it perfect.

They don't want you to be the Beta tester, they want the .223 version all ready to go when it does go.

I'd rather wait and get one that doesn't need to go back.

I hope the magazine set-up they're working on is the ability to accept higher capacity mags. Having 15 or 20 round mags would make for much funner range trips.

I wouldn't count on that.
The LR's a hunting gun & I wouldn't expect to see a 20-round box in one.
Not a battle rifle or a plinker.

Checked again, 5-round detachable.
It'd be silly to stick a 20-rounder on a levergun with a scope.
Talk about ungainly. :)
