I recently got yelled at here on the forum for buying a rifle and THEN asking for opinions, so this time I am asking for opinions about this rifle BEFORE I buy it. LOL

Thanks

Great guns, smooth action, made in USA and great customer service. We see them at our gun shop and the Henry's are very popular, we sell a lot of them.
We can't keep them on the shelf. I don't think you could go wrong with one.

I love shooting my Henry 22. Great gun. Only thing I don't like about it is that some parts are plastic. I have not had problems yet but when I do it will probably be plastic related. But for the price it is worth having. Go for it!

ive had one for the last 12yrs. an h001 and i gotta say its been a great trouble free and accurate rifle id recomend one. no problems at all:)

got the 22 mag in the Frontier model with octagon barrell. gun has great balance and is a great shooter. The Henry action is smooth as silk. I am thinking about getting 2 more (22 lr) to give to my boys when they get a little bigger. fun guns to shoot. No plastic on my Frontier.

Have a Henry in .22HMR that is essentially the same as the 22 mag. Like others have said, the action is extremely smooth. It is also a very, very accurate gun. Not aware of any plastic parts on mine. Would highly recommend Henry based on my experience.

Can't say much about the 22 mag because I don't have one. I do own a Henry .22, the H001 and it has been great for the last 12 years of steady use.

If they are still making them as they did 12 years ago, you will have yourself a good rifle. I can impress myself with the accuracy I can get out of mine. The action is smooth.

No problems with mine. I am not sure about the plastic parts on it someone else mentioned. The butt plate and the tip on the inner mag tube are the only plastic I notice on mine and neither have given me any reason to be concerned about them wearing out. If the inner mag tube ever does mess up, Henry sells them for $21.

I have a Henry Golden Boy 22 Magnum. Great gun, and a thing of beauty. I only got the Golden Boy because at the time they didn't offer the hex barrel in a blued gun. The round barrel just doesn't appeal to me. I got the Magnum just because I didn't have anything chambered for that round. I'm very pleased with my rifle, and am glad I decided to get the Golden Boy model. Everyone needs a Purdy rifle in his collection.:D
One change I did do was to replace the sights with a set of fiber optic sights from Midway. Made it a much better shooter for these old eyes.

You'll love it, and nobody should yell at you for getting it. I've had the goldenboy since 2003, in .22 mag. smooth action great looking too. Just a little expensive for .22mags, but who cares its fun to shoot. Just don't move to NY you will soon only be able to load 7 shots in the mag.

I was just browsing around at Bass Pro last night and came across an H001. I've always heard good things about them on here but never actually took the time to take a closer look at one. After playing with it and feeling how smooth the action was, I had to have one. LOL My wife wasn't as enthusiastic with how great I though it was when I got home and told her about it and that I actually purchased it but I know once we get out and shoot it, It'll be her favorite. (She's not a 30-06 fan anymore since the scope almost gave her a black eye.)
