Henry H010

Hello everyone I am new here on the FL as well as a happy new owner of a Henry H010 45-70. I am wondering if any H010 owners or anyone for that matter knows a good place to buy reasonably priced accessories like slings and such, I have tried looking and can't find much. Thanks everyone :)!

I can't say much about Henry guns, but as far as slings go, it would be helpful to know what type you're interested in.

Do you want leather to go with the Old West look, or do you just want something for comfortable carrying like a neoprene or rubber sling, or just something utilitarian like a cotton or nylon sling?

Thank you for taking the time to reply, and I think I just want something affordable and comfortable for hunting mainly. It's a hunting rifle after all so it's going to be out in the weather. I wish I could find a synthetic sling that just goes over the butt and barrel instead of having to do the sling mounts and all that.

Not sure how familiar you are with slings, so forgive me if I'm saying basic stuff that's already very obvious to you...

I believe your gun came with the studs already on the gun, yes? If so, using them will probably be easier than getting a sling that loops or cinches around the stock and barrel.

Many slings come with the metal swivels already attached to the sling. If not, you can just buy the swivels separately for about $10 per set. I typically use Uncles Mike's swivels. They are sold in 1" and 1-1/4" sizes depending on the width of the sling. A 1-1/4" sling might be a more comfortable choice for a solid gun like your Henry.

I like using a "hasty sling" shooting technique sometimes, so I prefer a slings that is pliable and without extra bulky pads but not too stretchy. One of my slings is this cheapy. I don't care for billboard logo on it, but it comes with swivels already in place and fits my criteria for hasty sling use. There could be worse places to start.

These are the slings available through Cabela's. Not saying it's the best place to to get them or that they have everything, but it gives a general idea of what's out there.

Now if you are looking for a awesome sling, here you go! Look up Brass Stacker on the internet. They make the best slings for the Henry Rifles. Don't put any sling studs in the stock until you see the Brass Stacker Sling.
