Henry Customer Satisfaction

I just purchased a Henry Golden Boy.
This is a very well made rifle and I really like it. I am very short 5' 5" tall and the length of pull for the Henry is a little long. I can not actuate the lever comfortably while on my shoulder ( short arms Smile ) I called customer service and asked them if I could get a Youth stock for it. The girl on the phone said sure that they were $67 plus shipping. I told her I would get the money in my account and call her back.
In the mean time I wrote Anthony Imperato an email explaining my situation and ask if I could trade my stock in on a youth model. He replied to my email saying " Jeff just send me you're address and phone # and I will just send you one no charge."
Man now that is really taking care of you're customers. No wonder their reputation is so good.
Great Guy.

That is pretty slick!

On one hand, accessories are a big moneymaker for gun manufacturers and it's always been this way. Frankly, something like a stock for a lever action is a deal where there's few or zero aftermarket players in the ballgame. And the price she quoted on the phone isn't truly bad at all, at least in my opinion -- from a gun manufacturer no less.

For him to simply send you one no charge is quite a gesture.

Tell you what, I'd acknowledge that gesture with a donation to the NRA or some local or state level organization, or any quality group that could use it, and I'd shoot an e-mail back to the gentleman and let him know how the goodwill gets passed along.

Also a good idea for you to share this story on forums like this one.

Sevens, I am a member of several gun forums that I visit twice daily. I have told this story on several of the sites. I am looking for a .357 in a Marlin 1894 but just may go with the Big Boy now.

DPris, when is Henry coming out with a neat little side eject exposed hammer pump that says "44" or "357" where it now says "22" ??? I sure want one for Christmas....

They are planning new variations of existing patterns, but I have not heard anything on what you're asking for & I seriously doubt the market's there to justify a centerfire pistol-caliber pump.

You could always email Imperato & ask. :)

...I seriously doubt the market's there to justify a centerfire pistol-caliber pump.

That particular item is very wanted...have you seen what they're going for on the auction sites
since nobody makes them now??

SASS/Cowboy shooters use the heck out of them.
Trick is to make one that is in the 500-650 range and actually ADVERTISE IT...

No, it's a limited-interest item.
CAS people don't use it in droves, it offers no real advantage competitively, the Colt Lightning repros built for the CAS market have not sold in huge volume.

There IS interest, but you need to think in large numbers to justify R&D on a new design like that & they're not there.

It wouldn't be cheap, it wouldn't sell by the truckload. :)

Henrys are great rifles and that is truly a great Costumer Service story!

I have come close to buying one many times but I can not get over the 1860 style magazine feed. IF they where to a feed like most other lever actions I would be all over a new Henry.

One thing about that tube-loading mag is that it does not & cannot give you the traditional Sore Loading Gate Thumb. :)

I have had great luck with some companies and NOT SO GREAT LUCK with others, sig has treated me well, s&w goes above and beyond everytime I speak with them, Dan Wesson also gives more than you ask for, Les Baer is one of the nicest guys in the industry and always makes good for his products, as many others I have dealt with Springfield to name another one.

I have had trouble with Glock, Colt, and Benelli, so I will never buy or promote their products again.. Pretty simple rule of mine, burn me once, and I know that is the only time you will burn me because I will never give you another chance...

And I bought one because it is the slickest and smoothest little rifle I could find. I like the magazine since it is foolproof and you can mix and match any combination of 22 ammunition you want.

I agree with the Magazines, I have gated magazine levers and they are OK but much prefer the tube feed. I can not wait to get the Youth stock. I am not even going to fire the gun until I get it in and have the gun the way I want it. It will be very nice to have it properly fit my shoulder, if I measured my length of pull correctly, it measures 13 to 13.5. So this youth stock will be perfect.

I again want to thank Mr. Anthony Imperato. Great guy and if any of you have not seen him on RFC, go to YouTube and give him a watch. He is a very sincere guy and one that I have a lot of respect for. I especially liked it when a guy from my home state called in and said he was from Kentucky. Mr. Anthony Imperato stopped him and stated " Kentucky is our biggest buyer of the Henry firearms" or words to that effect. I will add a little to that, Kentucky owns more guns than any other state in the union.

Hey Mr. Imperato there you go for another Tribute idea, us Kentuckians will buy them up.

I wish they would offer a 24" or longer octagon, round or half octagon\half round barrel in their rifles. It is the only thing that holds me back from buying one. If they offered this option I would buy at least two of them

Some years ago I had occasion to call Henry about a part and how to purchase same. Anthony was the one to answer the phone, we chatted for some time about Golden Boy .22's I was giving each grand kid, his business, my observations etc. I hung up feeling really good inside. Oh! He sent the part at no charge. America the way we old guys remember it !

I have 3 22 rifles in perfect condition. I have a 7 shot 22 bolt action, a semi-automatic and my little Henry lever action. For some reason, the Henry is the only one I choose to shoot. Must be because of the TV shows and movies I watched in the 50s and 60s. That must also be the reason I shoot my cowboy revolver rather than my semi-automatics.

Great Company and a Great American

Mr. Imperato is a great American. He is a supporter of all things "American". Look at his company's Tribute rifles, Boy Scouts, Veterans, Fire and Police, etc. He has supported numerous charitable endeavors. There is an obvious connection between him and the outstanding customer service from the company. Thank you Henry Rifles.

Oh, yeah, and the rifles are fantastic.
