I just picked up one of these yesterday. Ugly pot metal receiver and crude finishing and....

I love it!

Ran 50rds each of cci and remington hyper velocity through it and no hiccups at all. Great little plinker.

Anyone know where to get mags or parts for the thing?

I seen some awhile back can't remember where, but they had 15rnd mag for it.
I had the charter arms ar7, was a neat gun but really pickey about ammo

Go to RimfirCentral Henry forums and get the low-down on parts, mods, mags and ammo for that rifle.

I've been thinking about getting one.

ours

Just got one for bamaboy and he loves it. This one has been through several hundred rounds now w/ no probs. The trigger is getting better but is a monster, but sufficient for the purpose.

James bond used one to take down a helicopter.

He used a savage 99 to assassinate a south american mobster, too.

Second range report

Well I can say definitively that this gun HATES american eagle .22 ammo. I don't think I got through ten rounds without a jam. Ran 400 rounds of it through because I bought a brick and just wanted to use it up but finally gave up. Stick with the higher quality stuff if you get one of these.

Try placing hand on bottom of mag as you shoot, my 40+ year old AR-7requires slight pressure on mag. because of the design I find it easy to use in that manner so never tried to correct but she fires fine and is fairly accuate as the sights allow. Mags can be found on gunbroke, or CDNN, I believe they have a 15 round type.
