Henry .22 sight options

Hey everyone, I need some help. I'm looking for a relatively affordable sight for my Henry H0001, say 50-70 dollars. The important thing is it must be easy to adjust- no tapping with a hammer or anything like that (its the primary reason I hate the factory sights). Ideally I'd love a rear mounted ghost ring, but I'm open to any sight options. I looked at marbles tang sight but its to expensive, also Skinner's dovetail sight came very close but I couldn't see how the adjustment works on their website- remember I want good solid adjustments, the rifle is way to accurate not to have them. Thanks in advance guys.

I have a 001 as well.

Looks like our best bet is the drill/tap version. Send in your cover and they do everything for $87 including shipping. The dovetail version is the same price but sits too high, requiring a different front sight. It says fully adjustable so I'm guessing just an allen bolt.

I don't have that exact Skinner sight but I do have one that adjusts in a similar manner.

Windage: you'll notice that the hole for the rear screw is oval instead of just a circle. You loosen the screws and slide the rear of the sight left or right as needed and then tighten the screws back up. Adjustable...yes. Precision...no. If you have to adjust left or right to correct windage, the sight will sit crooked on the receiver. How crooked depends on how for you have to adjust for windage.

Elevation: notice the set screw on the right side of the sight near the aperture. You loosen the set screw and then rotate the aperture up or down in half rotation increments as needed to adjust elevation and then tighten the set screw. You're limited by half rotations of elevation and may find that you can't get dead on...you'll either be a little high or a little low. Not so noticeable at 25yds but definitely noticeable at further distances. Adjustable...yes. Fully adjustable...no. You may have to move your aperture from one side of the post to the other as you adjust the elevation.

The sight will work and Skinner products are well made. I like my sight but I don't love it. Unfortunately, with the Henry, your options are limited.

Dang well thanks anyways gents. The idea of loosening a sight with a screwdriver and adjusting it as described doesn't appeal to me. I was looking at their 45- 70 and saw it had a factory ghost ring sight, and was hoping that that might have been an aftermarket option somewhere.

Whatever you put on the receiver rail is going to need a new front sight, as well.
I found the Skinner to be a complete PITA.

Henry's rail is 3/8".

I would call up Williams and Lyman and see what they have that is receiver mounted for the rear in a ring. Be aware, almost for sure, you will be winding up with a Lyman front.

I like the skinners on my Henrys, never had a problem with them. Except now I need a high visibility front sight cuz my eyes are getting old

My 001 has a grooved receiver on it. I just mounted a cheap Simmons scope that I traded somebody a box of ammo for on ODT. I bought some "high" rings. The problem with lower rings was the hammer was hitting the bottom of the scope and leaving marks on it. Didn't really care since I only had $14 in the scope but it was really hard to cock the hammer.

EDIT- I totally misunderstood. Thought you were talking scope not iron sight.
