help with tommy gu drum mag 1927-a1

I would like some help i have a auto ordenance drum mag for a 1927-a1 thompson it will not feed properly the bolt rides over the top of the bullet and stops the bolt from closeing and ammo feeding i use 30 rd stick mags with no problem but can never get the drum to work right. any help would be great

If I understand you correctly, the bolt is catching the round in the middle and jamming the gun. This can be due to poorly shaped feed lips, magazine not up far enough, bolt not fully functioning or spring not wound tightly enough. If there is play in the mag, try holding it up and see if that is the problem, then you might have to build up the magazine ledge or shim it.

Also check the ammo to be sure it has enough power to fully function the bolt; the drum mag may require a little extra time over the stick mag.
