Help with my pistol project!

Hey folks. In a recent thread someone mentioned that the Beretta 92 has a light slide. That didn't sound right, and since I just got a PT92, I started weighing slides and thought it would be interesting to compare the recoiling mass of recoil operated pistols. It would be great if people would post weights for their guns:

HK USP full size 9mm:
Slide weight: 11.8 oz
Slide and barrel: 15.2 oz (total mass of recoiling components)

Taurus PT92 9mm:
Slide weight: 11.8 oz
Slide and barrel: 16.9 oz

Sig P210
Slide weight: 10.0 oz
Slide and barrel: 14.0 oz

There are many other factors that control recoil forces, like hammer leverage and how long the barrel stays locked to the slide. The USP remains locked the shortest distance (like many modern pistols), the P210 longer (typical of CZs, too) and the 92 remains locked an amazing 5/16" or so.

Given the very high slide/barrel mass and long lock, the 92 pistols likely have the lowest residual chamber pressure at unlock and the slowest slide velocity. They use a 13 pound recoil spring, while something like the Sig P226 uses a 20 pounder.

If you also find this kind of thing interesting, and have a luggage, fish or kitchen scale, please post your weights and I'll make a chart.

Thanks!
