I have a FN made Mauser and it is marked Modelo 1935. the side of crest and words Re are still visible however the rest of the markings are no longer visible due to scope mounts. the guy I bought the gun from said it is .30-06. just wanted to get some information on the gun.

There were many Modelo 1935 rifles. One Model 1935 was made for Brazil by Oberndorf in 7X57. There was a Chilean Model 1935 in 7X57, but these had the Mauser crest. There was a Peruvian FN-made rifle, but it was a Model 1933. The only other Model 1935 I can think of was the Argentine police rifle, and it was in 7.65X53 and marked with crossed cannons and "Carabineros".

Without an intact crest, it's hard to say exactly what you have in hand. But generally, FN-made M98 actions were among the best, both in finish and metallurgy.

There was a Peruvian Model 1935, made by FN; it was originally in 7.65x53, but most were later converted to .30-'06 and so marked.
