hello everyone..
im a 27 year old male from Ny now living in the sunshine state. Just recently purchased a smtih&wesson 5906 9mm. Looking for some help with the concealment licensing? here goes:

okay..hope i dont sound like an idiot here but im having some trouble understanding some of the questions on this application. Was wondering if i can get a little help here.

4a Do you qualify for exemption from the public records law as provided by section 119.07(6)(i) FLorida Statutes?
If yes do you wish to have this information kept confidential?
(What exactly are they asking me here?)

5c Are you deemed a lawful permanent resident alien by the Dept of Homeland Sec, us citizenship and Immigrations services?
This is basically asking about citizenship? I was born and raised in New York ..USA ...So is that a yes or a no? Im thinking Yes but question is confusing...

I just dont want to write the wrong thing here and have to do this all over again so any help is appreciated it.. thanks guys

If i'm not mistaken the answer would be NO to both of the questions. The questions on those forms change all the time and can get tricky. I would go to the sherriffs dept. and ask a deputy or someone to help you fill it out if you're having trouble.

5c is definitely a NO. A "lawful permanent resident alien" will have an ID card attesting to US citizenship. Born here = US citizen, born in another country and later received US citizenship = Resident Alien.

4a apparently refers to your possible ability to keep your CCW status confidential and out of the public records. I am not from FL and do not have any idea to what section 119.07(6)(i) Florida Statutes refers. You would have to look it up if privacy is important to you. If not, just say NO and be done with it.

hello all I have a couple questions about the CCW here in FLA so I figured I'd ask here instead of posting a whoile new thread.

1) I know with the CCW you can purchase a handgun and leave with that hadngun the same day without waiting the 5 (actually 7) days. does the same apply to rifles?

2) this is to smith. What have you gone through to get the CCW? I see these classes advertised at sports stores but are these required or are they to prepare you for some test? also it looks like they accept a military DD214 in place of a training documentation. I have that. but you also have to send a finger print card and passport photo? is that correct?

A "lawful permanent resident alien" will have an ID card attesting to US citizenship. Born here = US citizen, born in another country and later received US citizenship = Resident Alien.

Whoa, whoa, hold up here. A resident alien is not a U.S. citizen. If they were they would simply be called U.S. citizens. From a simply google search:

Definitions of Resident Alien on the Web:

A citizen of another country who lives in the United States and/or has resident status by law or visa, or passes the substantial presence test.
www.bookkeeperlist.com/definitionsr.shtml

A non-US citizen who is granted most of the rights of an US citizen, including permanent residency in the United States. Resident Alien status is usually evidenced by a "Green Card."
www.almadenfinancialgroup.com/glossary-contents.html

so the answer to your question is definately a "no"
