Help with CCW Application

I live in California and wish to obtain a CCW permit. My local jurisdication's application says that "personal protection" is not a valid reason for issuance (go figure). Anyway, any good ideas out there that have worked in getting your permits?

Thanks

Either become friends with the issuer, or MOVE. I hear some counties are slack while others are strict.

I'm serious,

I lived in Jersey where personal protection was also not considered to be a valid reason. When my daughter was born, I packed up my family and moved down to Florida. First choice wouldn't have been Vermont but the job market didn't match my skills & experience. Third choice would have been Texas.

I dunno, blow the sherrif maybe? 'Cause in the PRK, that's about the only way you'll get one....

My opinion only, of course....

Actually, since the courts have determined that the police are under no obligation to protect you (their responsibility is to enforce laws), you may wish to inform your local of this fact. Also include that one of California's anti gunner (Pelaca?? Did I spell that right?) has a permit for just that: "Personal Protection".
If you local issuing authority is still hesitant, get his/her name, rank and serial number and inform them you will return with your lawyer.
Unfortunately, Califonia is one of the most anti American states in the Union. I'd like to see the pro American folks move to northern California and secede from southern California.
So, when are the Chicoms in Long Beach going to invade?

First thing, go check out my website on the California CCW situation:
http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw

Depending on where you are, odds are you'll run into "blanket zero issuance" or "town discrimination by the Sheriff"; I've commissioned a formal legal opinion on these and some related subjects, definately check it out: http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw/opinion.html

In my county (Contra Costa), Sheriff Rupf likes to talk about "extraordinary good cause". He's full of $hit, at least where his buddies, campaign contributors and the "elite" are concerned...see also this expose: http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw/cccr.pdf - requires Adobe Acrobat reader 3.0 or greater, download from http://www.adobe.com

"The Contra Costa Cronies Roster" (cccr.pdf) was assembled from Freedom Of Information Act CCW data. I can help you obtain copies of the data for YOUR county...EMail me if you're REALLY ready to fight back.

I've also started on a "broad overview" of CCW screwups, see also: http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw/inca.pdf

NOTE: the .PDFs aren't yet linked to the rest of my site, for legal tactical reasons. That's about to change soon...

JimDiver, so far as I can tell that's just not the case here in California.

If you know of particular PD Chiefs or Sheriffs who are swayed by out-of-state permits, I'd like to hear about 'em.
