Every time one of these .22 plinker topics comes up, I usually type a long winded eval of what I listed above. For some reason it jinxes the board somehow and it's usually that day that disappears into the bit bucket
The short of it:
.22/45 -Nothing short of a dump truck with a sight. Impossible to shoot it too much. Eats anything you feed it. If it won't, you got a bad one. Dump it and get another.
Buckmark Camper-Great gun, just don't take the right side grip off and buy plenty of recoil spring retaining clips. If you want prettier, or variation get a micro or a plus. Same action, different look. Same feel, but more $$.
CZ75B- Kadet conversion. Outstanding value for an all steel machined upper assembly. Accuracy is hampered only by the trigger of the CZ75b. Big plus is that for a little over $500 you get a fine defensive weapon and a plinker in one package.
High Standard- If you've never shot an icicle breaking crisp, sub 1 1/2 pound trigger, you're missing out on an experience of a lifetime. Mine's only the spin of the combo lock on the safe away
. It WILL make you shoot better than you are. My old Sport King is almost as tough as my .22/45. Eats even more of a variety than the .22/45. Drawback-Harder to find than an honest Democratic candidate. Good news-(for me anyhow) My father in law has one exactly like mine
except he never fired his.
Bottom line:
Tough to find a really bad .22 Semi Auto. About the only ones I've seen nothing good said about are Jennings and the Colt Cadet.
