Help w/scout squad M1A purchase

I'm considering adding the Scout Squad M1A with fiberglass stock to my collection, actually either the scout or the M1A "loaded" version. I'm just curious if the shorter 18" barrel will seriously affect the rifles inherent accuracy that I've heard so much about? Any other comments/observations of the Scout would be appreciated.
Thanks

Zee,

There is at least one school of thought that believes that shorter barrels are more accurate, due to less vibration on firing. This must be weighed against velocity loss, of course. At ranges out to 300 meters, I doubt it matters. :)
