Help the MMM at their next meeting

We need a printer. We need some yard signs that say "Gun Free Home", maybe a picture of a gun with a line thru it. You know what I mean.

At the next MMM meeting in your area, show up and pass out free yard signs. Pretend to be one of them. Make sure you get a commitment from all the gun-owning leaders of the MMM to sell their guns and put the signs in their yards. These morons and the sheep that follow them will put them up. See if you can get some media coverage so that criminals know EXACTLY what the signs mean.

I estimate it will take less than 30 days for reality to sink in. Burglaries and home invasions will go up. Signs will come down. End of MMM in your area.

Any printers out there that can make us some cheap yard signs ?

I already plan on helping them out. I plan to teach them how to hit the deck during what they will think is a drive by shooting. I plan on teaching them how to fill the seat of their pants for cushioning when they do hit the deck. It will be a blast to watch these women scatter when I drop a couple hundred firecrackers in the middle of their next little party. It would be worth a few weeks in jail, just to see the look of these womens faces on the evening news after them firecrackers go off.

Maverick,

let's not.

I have seen these "please don't hurt me" signs. They will not work. Even a moron would not put one up. And they will not change a single MMM mind.

I am suggesting a much simpler "bragging" sign where they can simply share their philosophy with their neighbors, and then let the signs work. Nothing teaches like a practical lesson. A million words will not do as well. I just hope no one gets hurt.

Maverick, that's a terrible idea.

Although the high school student in me really wants to see their reaction.

America really is a wonderful place. I actually saw one of those "gun free zone" signs in the rear window of a car in Fairfax County, Virginia. I suspect the owner was well-intentioned, and very naïve.

The sign -- particularly if the car is 15 miles away in many DC neighborhoods -- might as well read, "please steal me and injure, rape, or murder the occupants". Naturally, when that happens, the solution will be to make self-defense through handgun ownership even more difficult.

Maybe not. People often go thru an epiphany when a gun is stuck in their face. The reality of helplessness overwhelms previous politics.

Maverick, don't do that. I think that you can be jailed for assult even if they are only fire crackers, inciting a riot, and G-d forbide that someone has a heart attack from it, you can be charged with murder or attempted murder if they survive (like the Atlanta event, one guy had a heart attack and they will charge the criminal with murder on that one).

I remember when the "Forget the dog, beware of owner" signs with the revolver came out. My dad put one in the window of our house, and he HAD the revolver to back him up. Didn't get any criminals around our house but the house next door did get robbed, twice. This was in Warner Robins GA and we had one of the two two story houses in the neighborhood (I guess the crooks thought that if you had a two story home, you had more good stuff then the others). Our next door neighbor bought an alarm system after the first robbery, put out the sign (we didn't have an alarm system) and the crooks cut his phone line the second time and robbed the house (they may have done more but I was a little kid). The mmm folks aren't that stupid to put out a sign but they are the ones with alarm systems, posting the sign for it outside the home. But, alarm systems are the same as ignition locks, alarms on cars, a good thief knows how to get past them.

I opt for the "Beware of owner" signs, shows that we can and will protect our lives and property; the only bad thing is that it also tells the thief that there may be guns in the house to steal, just do good scouting work before you rob the place.

Interesting thought. A couple of local pro-gun groups have offered them at various non-gun functions, including the recent Takoma Park folk festival. Our experience has been virtually zero takers. The few that were taken were often by gunowners to give as gifts to anti-gun freinds or neighbors.

If you're still interested I may be able to get you some window decals at a reasonable cost. I'm sure there are plenty left.

The firecracker thing is a bad idea.
