After lurking on this site for some time I bougt a new SS taurus 94 w/4" barrel. I took it out and put 100 rounds downrange and it is patterning like a shotgun. Also could someone comment on how to effectively adjust the sights, the rear horizontal screw seems loose, should I use a little loctite? and how do you adjust the the drift, there are 2 screws and it seems imprecise. Also the cylinder release has a little play, is this normal (I checked the screw and its tight)? I'm praying I don't regret not buying the $&W. Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Had a stainless, and the rear sight is NOT adjustable like a Smith & Wesson. The screws are simply opposing screws, i.e. loosen one side, tighten the other side to snug. I imagine if the sight is loose, it is simply bouncing around without the screws tight.

My gun had an odd thing, a "step" in the chambers (like a centerfire) instead of being bored straight through. Can't help accuracy. I thought about it a bit, and maybe they did that so that the nine shot wouldn't bind as bad on ejection.

I have one that shoots very well. Probably the best shooting revolver I own. I understand about the windage adjustment screws, and to move the windage a little, just loosen the side you want to move towards and then tighten the other side against it. Small amounts can be acheived this way, just loosen the screw a half a turn at a time. The other screw you speak of being loose, I am unsure at to what you mean. The thumb latch is ok if it's a little loose. If it is tight against the gun it won't work correctly. You may want to try several kinds of ammo to improve accuarcy, mine shoots better with some than with others.

Windage adjustment is as described. Can raise/lower rear sight by adjusting the screw in middle of sight that attaches it to gun.

Note: My original rear sight had to be returned (without gun) to Taurus for replacement as it wall milled slightly crooked/canted to one side.

Replacement one shoots dead on. Best little .22 revolver I have ever owned. Just wish it had larger grips/frame!
