Help! SRH 454 blowing primers

I just got to cleaning my 454 and noticed that there was pitting around the firing pin hole. I then looked at my brass and noticed that I was blowing primers. This is a brand new gun and I already scarred it. The pitting isn't that bad, it's around the circumference if the firing pin hole. Can these pits be removed? I was using twice fired starline brass with 29 grains of H110 behing a 300 grain pill. Does anyone have any downloaded data for the 454, hodgdon says not toteduce the H110 loads. I think I was blowing primers because of tired brass. Any input on how to get rid of teh pitting would be apprecited

Remember...
A pit is a hole left when metal was removed.
To make the pits go away, you have to remove all the metal around them to the depth of the bottom of the pit.

There is something seriously wrong...
Either the cases or the gun.

Needs checkin into.

I reload StarLine brass in .454 with the same load you're using four to five times with no problems. Are you sure you used Small Rifle and not Small Pistol primers? The Small Pistol primer cups can't handle .454 pressures. If that isn't the problem, check the firing pin and see if it has a small burr that could be cutting the primer cup. The load you describe is really at the low end for the .454.

BTW, Hodgdon is not kidding about reducing the load being bad in the .454. The H110 won't ignite but the Small Rifle primer will send the bullet a fair distance into the forcing cone...
