Help!-Sistema 1911 problems

First off,let me say that i have no point of reference as to how a 1911 should behave,as this is the first one i've ever shot.At the range tonight,i put 200 rounds of 230 grain FMJ Wolf ammo through my Sistema. Here are the problems.
1.When pushing in a full mag(the one that came with the gun 7-rounds),the mag kept popping out a 1/4 of an inch.Sometimes i would have to smack it 5 or 6 times to get it to lock into the frame.Sometimes,my repeated smacks would actually knock the top round out of the mag and into the chamber which i would discover upon racking the slide.Does this sound like a mag problem, frame problem, spring(i don't know which one)problem, ammo or what?
2.After shooting a full mag,the slide would lock back(as i'm used to in my other semi-autos) but would slam forward as soon as i pushed the mag release button. Is this normal 1911 behavior, and if not what are your suggestions?
P.S.i have some new mags that i forgot to take to the range and maybe they would have prevented these problems-i don't know!
P.S.S.This same mag when empty goes in and locks the first time every time.

They ship those with super cheap magazines. Chunk em and get some decent mags. My 1st Sistema had worn a magazine catch also.

Is a new magazine catch expensive? I assume it has to be installed by a gunsmith. I will however try the new mags first, and thanx for the answers.:)
By the way,i did lose some blood to web bite! Thats a new handgun experience.

...Sorry you're havin' probs...These sites may be of some use to you...Let us know how it turns out...Good Luck...

I just replaced the magazine catch in mine today. It cost me $10.00 and I replaced it myself. I won't try to explain how to do it. You're better off going to one of those instructional sites, if you need help.

Whew!
Apparently it is the mag. My 10 round Argentine military mag goes in and locks every time when full, and the slide stays open when i hit the mag release while using this mag. I don't understand how the mag is crucial to keeping the slide locked back however. Those 1911's are a kick in the pants (except for the blood loss!) and now i can see why they are so widely loved. Thanx for the replies and the links to helpful sites.;)

You've got the fever now! It happened to me as well. It will get to the point where you won't notice the hammer bite until after you get back home. Actually I think I'm starting to get a callous where it bites my hand. That will help.
