Help, rimlock!

As stated in my earlier thread, I recently acquired a new P32. I'm having serious rimlock issues - so far, with Blazers and Silvertips (only 32 ammo I've been able to get yet). I'm being very careful now when I load my mags, which is making a difference, but I was wondering if, perhaps, a higher power recoil spring or mag spring might make a difference in being able to pull a round out with a bit more force....am gonna F&B the gun this weekend as well....any ideas?

Most of the rimlock problems with my P32 were cured by getting Wolff extra power MAGAZINE springs. Others have used heavier Wolff recoil springs. I tried that and the gun would not run any more so I went back to the standard recoil spring. You can always use decent FMJ ammo and probably avoid the problem. Blasers do not count as decent ammo in my opinion. My P32 works fine with Silvertips now, but will still rimlock with Hydrashoks. Good luck. Watch-Six

I cartainly agree that Blazers don't count as decent ammo...they were just all I could find on short notice! Am planning on getting a variety of ammo this weekend to give it a try....

Rimlock is primarily caused by the rim design on the .32ACP. Shorter rounds can be loaded into the magazine with the rim of the higher one behind the next round with those short rounds. I'd pick a defensive round that's long enough to minimize the possibility, and then load the magazines carefully to avoid the issue.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but...

..I've never experienced rim-lock in my P-32. I use the new (and powerful) Cor-Bon hollow points. However, a couple of months ago I sent my early model pistol back to Kel-Tec for some updates and a new gray grip frame, and it came back with new mags which obviously had stronger springs.
