Help removing rear adj sight on a Kimber?

Finally received a replacement rear sight (adjustable) from Kimber for my Eclipse.

I removed the 3 screws (large top one plus the 2 hex ones on top & side). Took the top ramp anyway since the pin had fallen off.

But the base won't budge even with reasonable force and side taps. I don't want to break anything but I'm sure there is nothing else supporting this.

Thoughts on how to get the base out? Or is a job for a shop with a special tool?

Thanks!

Dan, I've done it. IIRC, I ended up supporting the slide with the right side facing down, clearance under the sight body. I had to poud the heck out of the sight body. I used a nylon/brass hammer (nylon side for impact). Those sights are in pretty tight!!

Good luck!

Thanks bud, decided I'm just not feeling that adventurous tonight. This one gun is too pretty to risk.

I'm going to the range tomorrow anyway to try out my new Baby Eagle, maybe the shop owner will do it at a nominal rate.

Time to ask: New day, old sight is out finally.

Any tips on inserting the new one? Seems like an impossible fit.

Tempted to just ship the thing to Kimber, but this shouldn't be that hard a job...

Thanks in advance!
