I was wondering how easy is was to attach a side saddle by yourself or if it was even possible? There is this elastic sleeve thing that fits over the stock and holds shells, but I was wondering if the shotgun's rimmed cartridges would scratch the stock. Any coments on these?

Do you mean the entire side saddle is elastic?
If so, then the entire thing should just slip over the stock. And the shells will not scratch anything.
