HELP Please!! Pre 81 Browning BLR

Hey everyone. Sobi inherited my father in laws pre 81 browning BLR and we took it to the firing range yesterday for the first time. Well the clip was not locking into place so we were loading manually. My father in law then used the palm of his hand and pushed it a littler firmer and it locked into place but nowit won't release from the rifle. .... any suggestions....

Find a good gunsmith.

Also, be aware that the older BLR clip mags are not interchangeable with later models. You may have gotten hold of a newer magazine and that is why it wasn't working correctly.
