Hello All,

I need disassembly instructions for removing the barrel of a Remington
Model 11 SPORTSMAN. (S203xxx)

Can anyone point me in the right direction ??

Someone 'Bubba'd" the barrel. the new owner asked me to "fix it and clean it up". My idea is to replace the 'boogered" barrel, and do a good cleaning..no reblue, no buffing, no refinish... !!

My internet search has been fruitless.

Thanks

This will get you close, you may have to use the cartridge shell stop to remove the breech block pin, it will make sense once you start the tear down. Also if the buttstock screw is hard to remove, try removing the 2 trigger guard screws first to relieve any tension on the buttstock screw. Goodluck and make sure you have the right screw drivers.

Thanks Fellas,
My internet has been down for 3 or 4 days...
This info looks to be just what I need.
PS...I gots me a good set of hollow ground screwdrivers I keep hid from the wife.:D

If the info is not what you need, all Browning A5's, Remington Model 11's of all flavors, and Savage 720's, 745's, 755's and 775's are the same as far as barrel removal goes...

Unscrew the magazine cap, remove the forearm forward, and simply slide off the barrel...

Take note of friction ring and spring placement for reassembly...

Magazine tube/friction ring interface should be run dry without oil...Friction rings are adjusted for light/heavy loads...

BTW...The Remington Model 11 'Sportsman' is simply a 3 shot version of the regular Model 11...No plug needed for waterfowling...
