Help on refinishing a Nickle pistol

I'm looking to refinish a Nickle coated pistol that works great but the Nickle finish is comming off at the normal wear spots for a working gun. Some of coatings I've been looking at have been ,parkerizing, Roguard, KGI Gunkote, Diamondkote, Arctic Kote, np3... Now I understand that the rest of the Nickle has to be stripped off and that will add to the cost but is it possable to have this job done around $200. If so, drop the name of good smiths that would like such work. The pistol in question is my wife's browning BDA in a .380 (not my choice but a nice shooter) as she works for a security service.

Thanks for your time

Ever think of Black-T?

I read that Birdsong will put Black-T over e-nickel.

Maybe save yourself the effort of stripping the nickel, and get some extra corrosion protection.

Hi, Duckfoot,

You probably know about removing the nickel electrically, essentially the reverse of the way it was put on. I have had it done on several guns, then had them blued. This works pretty well, but sometimes leaves the gun a bit loose as the factory made slight changes to guns to be nickeled to allow for the thickness of the nickel.
