Help on deciding on a CCW. . .

So far my options are between the Taurus Millennium, Kel-Tec P40(?) and KAHR. All of them are the .40 S&W caliber models that are available at my local dealer. Please give me your opinions & direct experiences to be able to decide on the best one.

Thank you.

Of the three you mentioned, the Kahr is by far the most durable and solid of them. If I remember right, it also holds the fewest rounds. Gotta take the bad with the good.

BOY, this is getting wore out. I say KAHR w/o reservation. Go into the BB search forum and plug in Kahr 40 for lots of input. You won't regret springing for quality!

Wil: In my humble opinion you are considering
one high quality piece, and two lower quality
pieces. The Kahr is in a different class
than the Taurus or the Kel-Tec. Just one
man's opinion.

I own the KT40, it took a good couple hundred
rounds before it worked well. Since then it
has been 100% flawless. But I never carry
it.

To my way of thinking, carrying means that
you hope that you spend the rest of your life
never having to use it. But if you do have
to use it, you want as close to 100% reliable
as modern technology can produce. Thus I
carry a wheel.

Something to consider, perhaps...

I'd go with the Kahr before the others in a heartbeat. However, if I were choosing a .40 for CCW I think I'd either go with the Glock 23 or 27. Just my .02

Living in the deep south, the Kahr MK40 is my every day CCW. I like it's reliability, it's solid construction and super-compact size. That said, I had the opportunity to fire the Taurus Millennium this week-end
(see related post if interested [Link to invalid post]).

With my very limited exposure to it (I only fired one magazine through it), it seemed to work okay and it's only slightly larger than the MK40 but it holds twice as many rounds as the MK40 (10 vs 5). Plus, it has an external safety which I really like.
