HELP!! NIB G21 problems??

I just bought a NIB G21. I put 120 rounds of the absolute dirtiest crap ammo I have ever used--"Armscor Precision." At about 75 rounds, when I had the slide locked back and I inserted the mag, the slide didnt want to go into battery; it hesitated. I dissassembled it and cleaned off the feed ramp with my shirt. It was completely gummed up with crap. The end of the slide near the muzzle and frame were gray also. I noticed on the feed ramp that the tip of it had a lip on it now. I did a thorough cleaning before I shot it and it was not there prior to the first shot. I did not have any FTF's in spite of this flaw. Is it possible that this crap ammo was the culprit? or is it a bigger deal than that?? In the 100+ rounds I put through the 21, it was dirtier than when I put a couple hundred rounds of other ammo. PMC, Winchester, etc...through my other Glocks. This ammo is FMJ round nose. Whats the deal, and how should I remove this lip?? thanks for the input.

1. Stay away from that ammo in the future
2. Make sure you're not over-lubing your Glock - it should only take 3 drops of oil total (reread the manual if in doubt)
3. If it really bugs you, take a little jewlers rouge and a felt wheel on a dremel and polish up the ol' feed ramp. After that, if there is still a lip, leave it unless it is actually causing problems.
Hope this was helpful. Good luck.

Thanks John, The lip was so minor that I decided to take a small machining file to it, and by hand removed it. Then I took the dremel and polished the feed ramp. Now it is gone, I can still kind of see it, but I cannot feel it. I loaded up the mag with Federal Hydra-shocks and racked the slide and it fed fine; no hang ups? Has anyone experienced this before or has any ammo caused anyone problem?
The saga continues: upon closer inspection, I noticed that both mags have metal lips that hang out in front of the follower. With an empty mag., installed and the slide locked back, the lip on the mag lines up directly with the newly acquired lip on the feed ramp. Sounds and looks like a defect, huh? My guess is that when the slide is cycling, the barrel is coming down and hitting the top of the mag; thus causing the metal to be deforming on the feed ramp. Damn, I guess I will have to wait until monday to call Glock. Do any of you think this is normal??

Doesn't sound normal, and Im almost positive that it's got nothing to do with the ammo. Even if you were to use a ton of steel-cased import ammo, the cases aren't as hard as the barrel, so it shouldn't cause a lip like you described. Besides, you only got through 75rds, so you can probably rule that out. As for the mag thing, I can't seem to picture what you're describing, so I can't comment. A visit back to the dealer, or a phone call to Glock wouldn't hurt though. Hopefully someone else here will have a better imagination and will have a better idea what your describing. I've had my 21 since '94 and love it - still no jams or FTF's.
