Help Needed with Mossberge

I have a Mossberge Silver Reserve 12 ga O&U Shotgun that I purchased new a few years ago.

The latch for the front stock doesn't stay up in the forearm like it is suppose to, it never has. it appears that the spring isn't strong enough to hold the latch closed.

Is there a quick fix for this ? Any advice will be appreciated.

I guess I have to ask why you waited so long and didn't either take it back to the store or call Mossberg right away?
