I ran across a photo of a pistol like yours in my copy of "2005 Standard catalog of Firearms" 15th edition. Please don't ask me what page it was on, etc. asI was just flipping through the catalog.

identifying found revolver

Me, again. I had time to flip through my "2005 Catalogue of Firearms" again. I found a photo of two possible matches. The first is a CA 2000 .22 revolver made by Casull Arms, Inc. if Afton Wyoming. The second possible is a "Baby Hammerless" made by Henry M. Kolb of Philadelphia, Pa. Neither is a perfect match, but both appear close.

Unknown revolver

Looks like one of the revolvers made mostly in Belgium in the 1888-1912 time frame under the name "Velo-Dog". The name referenced a handgun to be used by a bicyclist to stop dogs from biting or attacking them. Could you IMAGINE a bicyclist shooting a dog NOWADAYS?

The caliber was a weird little long metallic centerfire round called 5.7 Velodog, although these revolvers COULD also occasionally be found chambered for the 22 Longue (22 Extra Long to us) and the 6mm. I find a near-match to your revolver on page 146 of the 1911 Alfa (Adolf Frank) Catalogue.
