Has anyone had any experience with the Mossberg Bolt Action Rifles, .308, mfg between 1975/1978?? Quality? Dependability in the field? Etc. many thanks. J.B.
I've got a Mossberg 800 in .308 in the safe but it's quite a bit older than what you're asking about. The extractor gave up the ghost a while back and finding one is sort of hard when Gun Parts is out of stock. Finally found one last year somewhere. I've heard that Howa extractors are the same though.
Thanks, fal308. They're not much good if the extractor fails, are they? Have a chance to buy two, with scopes, good condition, for $400, net. Maybe to put aside for an emergency. One never knows..... J.B.
A friend's wife has one in .243 and I shot a 0.5 inch group at 100 yards with it with a 3-9X TASCO scope. This isn't saying they are benchrest quality, but she has a good shooter.
