Help me welcome the newest member of my extended family...

Just won the bidding on this! A little higher than I really wanted to go, but I've been looking for one of these for YEARS. For some reason the snub-nose .32s are virtually non-existent...

Way to go!!
many many years ago a friend had one, really sweet pc. He carried it day and night.

Congrat's Mike!

My deceased fathers favorite gun was a Smith & Wesson
2" barrel model 30, .32 S&W Long caliber revolver that I
bought for him NIB in 1971. Price was $92.00 + sales tax.
Upon his death in January of 1996, I passed this little gun
along to my dad's favorite brother; with the understanding
that it is to be returned to me upon his death.

Best Wishes,

Very nice. I would love to own any Smith in .32 but as you say, I don't think I have ever actually seen one. I probably have but it doesn't come to mind. Obviously I would like whatever you call the .32 that is the same as the Model 14, only in .32 whatever that is called. But a 2" like this one would suffice.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy. This will be my second .32 Long. I'm waiting for a new mainspring for my first one, a 4" Regulation Police.

I'm also trying to find .32 Long ammo. Ammoman has it, but I'm not crazy about the price.

I need to check out some of the other on-line sites.

Mal,

Uh, Ammoman has it for SIGNIFICANTLY less than OWS. What a surprise. :)

I may look for reloading dies and accessories on Saturday.

Eric,

This one is a J-frame, I believe. The guy was messed up with his description, but the -1 was made between 1961 and 1976.

My Regulation Police is an I-frame.

Nothing wrong with a j-frame - you can shoot it and save the i-frame for collectability. Reloading is a good idea (I just assumed you were heading in that direction), but those itty-bitty bullets get tricky when you're tired.

As far as your initial ammo/brass purchase: One thing about Eric the Ammoman - nobody's ever complained about his service (that I've heard, anyway).

BigG, you're insane! :D Gotta love it.

(I've got to stop talking about these .32s before I get it in my head that I need one!)

Uh, that would be a big NO, BigG.

I've reloaded .32 Long before. Accidentally turned the I-frame .32 Long into a .32 Magnum using old loading data.

I took a look at the first 5 shots across the chrono and just about pooped. WAY too fast, over 1,000 fps.

Nice gun! I just bought a 3-inch version of the same revolver last Saturday; mid 1960's flat latch with diamond grips. Have only seen one other 2-incher in the past 30 years though. Enjoy, and get back to us on how this one shoots.

I'm not very happy with the seller, though.

I sent him a couple of questions after the auction closed. Got a canned message telling me where to send the FFL and check, but no response to my questions.

Height of arrogance.
