Just won the bidding on this! A little higher than I really wanted to go, but I've been looking for one of these for YEARS. For some reason the snub-nose .32s are virtually non-existent...
My deceased fathers favorite gun was a Smith & Wesson
2" barrel model 30, .32 S&W Long caliber revolver that I
bought for him NIB in 1971. Price was $92.00 + sales tax.
Upon his death in January of 1996, I passed this little gun
along to my dad's favorite brother; with the understanding
that it is to be returned to me upon his death.
Very nice. I would love to own any Smith in .32 but as you say, I don't think I have ever actually seen one. I probably have but it doesn't come to mind. Obviously I would like whatever you call the .32 that is the same as the Model 14, only in .32 whatever that is called. But a 2" like this one would suffice.
Nice one, Mike. I just was talking about I-frames yesterday on the "9mm Revolver" thread. Man, they're teensy aren't they? I had a friend - a good man - who had a nice one just like yours. Neat little thing, and exceptionally fun to shoot.
Nothing wrong with a j-frame - you can shoot it and save the i-frame for collectability. Reloading is a good idea (I just assumed you were heading in that direction), but those itty-bitty bullets get tricky when you're tired.
As far as your initial ammo/brass purchase: One thing about Eric the Ammoman - nobody's ever complained about his service (that I've heard, anyway).
BigG, you're insane! Gotta love it.
(I've got to stop talking about these .32s before I get it in my head that I need one!)
Nice gun! I just bought a 3-inch version of the same revolver last Saturday; mid 1960's flat latch with diamond grips. Have only seen one other 2-incher in the past 30 years though. Enjoy, and get back to us on how this one shoots.
I sent him a couple of questions after the auction closed. Got a canned message telling me where to send the FFL and check, but no response to my questions.
