Ok guys, I am at a crossroads. I do intend to ultimatly get both, but which should be the priority?
1) HK P7M8 LE turn in/factory refurbished. I stripped it, looks new inside, finish is about 98% except for the military mark that has been ground off. $699
OR
2) Kimber Classic. Your basic tight new 1911 with the Novak type rear sights. $719

Oddly I don't yet own a .45, I have a 92FS and a Sig 228. Part of me wants something more substantial than a 9mm, but then again its nice to know that every round in the safe will go through every gun. My 228 is my primary defense gun which backs up an AR and a Benelli M1, so this gun is to recreational shoot and just plain enjoy.
What will you guys buy?

Thanks in advance
John

I would go with the HK, will hold its value better than the Kimber (I love Kimber though) and like bk40 said- the P7's seem to be going the way of the Dodo bird. On top of that, the P7M8 is probably one of the top 3 best 9mm handguns ever IMO.

Oh, nice handle- assuming you are referring to BMW's, I have a 00 Mcoupe (Dinan Mods).

BK40 has it right. The P7M8 will be tougher and tougher to get. Besides they are great. My opinion is only based on 6 rounds through a guy's P7 who happened to be on the range the same time as me. The trigger is excellent and they are extremely accurate. The manual of arms is different than anything on earth but it is the fastest to draw and fire.

I'd say it depends on whether you want a 9mm or a .45. Personally, I prefer the P7, but if you really want a .45, then the Kimber is a good choice. It's also one of the few M1911s currently in production that I'd trust to work right.

H&K, I can't hardly ever find P7 any more. Plus you get the unique squeeze-cocker which I have not seen on any other gun.
