Help me pick a new shotgun

Here is what I would like to have in a new shotgun

Semi-auto
easily interchangable barrels / mag extention
synthetic stock
18-20in smooth bore and 26-28" field barrel that must accept screw in chokes.
will shoot both 2 3/4 and 3" RELIABLY, especially with light loads.

I would like this gun to be easily changed from a 26-28" field barrelled gun, to a 18-20" home defense gun. The option of an extended magazine in HD mode is prefered.

I am considering a Benelli M1 tactical with the rifle sighted, straight stock, and then adding a longer field barrel.

Also looking at Remington 11-87s.
 
What's your budget? The spare barrels on the Benelli's ran about 330.00 last time I checked. The 1187 is less expensive.

Neither is a bad choice.

That pretty much knocks benelli out of the running. I want to stay under $750 for sure. I have a beretta 1200FP and a Rem 870 I am thinking about trading for my "one gun does it all"

Looks like it might be a Rem 11-87 Synthetic.
 
I dont think I can do the spare barrel for the Beretta, it has a fixed 6rd mag, and the long barrels are set up to fit the shorter mag tube. Kinda like the mossberg deals with the 5rd/8rd barrels.
