Help me ID this Beretta Handgun

Short story long:
A friend of mine recently aquired a dozen or so firearms and I might buy a couple of them to add to my puny collection. One of them is a wee bit Beretta...and I'm not sure what it is or what its worth.
Its a small automatic, stainless, with plastic grips. The saftey/slide release is located on the left side, and swings up to lock the slide back. The Mag release is on the bottom of the butt. Its marked along the side of the slide as
"P. Beretta-cal.6.35-Gardone V.T."
Opposite on the slide is "Made in Italy"
And on the back of the lower reciever there is a mark "1956".
It has a dovetail saftey, as well. I'm going to try attaching a photo or two, here goes....:D

Well, I think I've got it.
Best I can tell this gun is a mutt.

I think the lower reciever is
"Patent 1919 model 418 cal. 25 ACP - third type (year 1952) "
Built in 1956

The upper reciever appears to be from a
"Patent 1919 model 418 cal. 25 ACP - last type ", built in or after '58.

Any ideas on the value of this little gun?

If it's a 418, it should go retail for around $225, give or take $25. Obviously, that's not what a dealer would pay for it... If it's really mixed parts, which I have some difficulty believing, it would most likely be worth less...
