Different strokes...If I was setting it up for myself,it would get a fixed 6X by 42mm objective Leupold with the standard duplex.
Its the FX-3,I believe.Higher grade lense coatings,in your price range.
With a fixed scope,you are always looking through the same scope,with a variable,not so.
That reticle is one mil duplex post tip to center,or 2 mils across the duplex...about 7 MOA.So,if an antelope fits the duplex,200 yds.Fits center to post,400 yds.Etc.
You might find if you zero that .300 at about 300 yds,the top post tip will hit a ping pong ball at 100 yds.and the lower post will zero at about 430 or s
f course,this depends on the load,bullet,etc.It will be in that ballpark.
Learn how to do that and you will have a very practical range and hold tool.
