Ill take new or slightly used, reconditioned, etc. New ones are running 80-100 with shipping, and I just can't make myself do it.

All of the usual dealers are well over 100 delivered. Anyone know where to go, a sale, etc? I'm probably going to have wait for a sale at cabelas, use my gift cards, landlady the thing to get free shipping

Pro-Chrony

I got my Pro-Chrony from Amazon. Normally about $98, but Amazon had a deal where you subscribed to a new Amazon credit card and they gave a $30 credit on your first purchase.
I couldn't pass up this deal. The new Pro-Chrony cost me $66 after taxes. Operates first time every time no complaints.:D

I have the Competion Electronic Pro Digital. Works great.
For an inexpensive Chrono try the CHRONY. You can get it from MidwayUSA for under $100.

If you are going to buy new and spend up to $100, get the Caldwell. I know at least one member on here had issues with his, but I am very happy with it. I have some of the $300 range chronos sitting on the shelf collecting dust in deference to the Caldwell.

I have had Chrony, PACT, and CED. I use the Caldwell and the phone app works great. I have shot over the Caldwell against the others, at the same time and got numbers that were consistent. I have not had a single fault so far. I think they did them right.

I have the Caldwell Chrony and LOVE it. The free app works great on my Android phone and tablet. I like using it with the tablet because of the big readout.

The following is a sample of the editable text files it saves:

Finally bit the bullet and got my first chrony last night. I got the caldwell on amazon. Theyou had a $50 gift card deal for signing up a CC and I had a $5 app store promo.
Paid $15 for a chronic. CAN'T BEAT THAT!!

I just got back from the range after a nice afternoon of shooting with a friend. He has a 22LR semi-automatic pistol that is fussy about which ammo works or doesn't with his pistol. So we were able to compare his velocity results to the same ammo in my pistol. We also used 5 different weapons from .223 to 9mm to 22LR throughout the afternoon several times with the Caldwell Chrony. If we were to use the Magnetospeed, we would have spent all afternoon mounting and remounting it to different weapons.
So I guess you need to determine just how much accuracy you need vs. the convenience and the relative results, which was all we were after.
It seems like having the end of your weapon tethered to its readout would be some sort of a trip hazard, unless I misunderstand how it attaches, Whereas the Chrony is 10 feet away and the tablet/phone doesn't need to be anywhere near the weapon.
For the casual shooter/reloader I'm still sold on the Caldwell for $70 vs, I don't know how much the other options are.
Like anything else, I'm sure there several other valid opinions.
