I am looking at a naa mini revolver in .22 mag/long conversion and a ruger lcp. I can't decide which I want and I can't get both. I already own a glock 23 for home protection but am looking for something really concealable and little to take with me when I need something really small. The LCP looks nice but ammo is very expensive and I plan on actually practicing with the one I choose. I also like the reliability of the revolver better + I like the idea of throwing it into a knife holster and no one knows there is a gun in it. On the flip side, .22 mag is not near as good as .380acp when you look at the barrel lengths of both. I really am having a hard time with this one. I do like the aval. of .22 ammo also. the NAA is 200.00 and the LCP is 300.00 but I'm not that concerned about that issue. When I look at the NAA, I see reliability, ammo availability, and cheaper price. But there is something that draws me to the LCP.

I would say it is common sense that draws you to the LCP for any kind of practical SD concealment purpose. Actually manipulating and firing those mini revolvers should probably be a dose of reality as to what they are really, to me, they are a novelty item instead of a practical arm. Might be fun to own but not if it is your only choice. Maybe you are envisioning what fun a more normal sized .22 revolver would be. Or even a smallish one that is somewhat larger than the micro minis. Best thing would be for you to try one out but I really doubt they are range rentals anywhere. Find a friend that has fallen for the cute factor on one.

JMHO

Bird if these are your only two options the LCP by far. The NAA guns are cute little things but would you trust your life with them? If you need a firearm for self defense it had better function in every aspect. I carried a 22 lr for three months because it was all I had. I saved every penny I could and finally saved enough to buy an LCR. I feel confident with my choice . The ability to conceal is not an issue as many carry much larger weapons.

Well, it it was for a deep conceal as a bug, the NAA would be ok...I carry one as a "last ditch" deal. If it's going to be the only gun on you, the .380 for sure.

I carry a .380 as a bug to a 1911 on occasion, and sometime I just stick the NAA in my pocket instead...but I've owned one for 20 years and shot them a lot, they DO take more practice for the SA to become 2nd nature. Like everyone else, I hope the worst never happens, but if I'm surprised & grabbed sitting in this wheelchair...at least I have something to shove up the BG's nose and get him off my back.

Get the .380 1st...you can always pick up a Mini down the road. I wouldn't advise carrying it as an only weapon.

You have to get the LCP, no question ... seven rds of .380 vs 5 rds of .22 in an SAO tiny revolver ... I'm planning to get an NAA Pug in the next few months, but just because I like the idea; no way it will replace my Kahr PM9 ...

Of the two choices, the LCP would be better than the NAA. There are better choices than the LCP, however, so you may want to keep looking.

The LCP is a good self defense gun. It offers easy of concealment with decent power and is a well made reliable gun.

Between the LCP and the .22, the LCP is the hands down winner.

get the lcp

Seriously, the little .22s are neat looking but they are not that practical. I have a lcp and have not had any problems from it. The ammo is expensive though. I have heard of people carrying the kel tec pf9 in there pocket. You may want to look at that if you want a gun to shoot a lot.
