Help Me Decide, Talk Me Out Of It

So I've been looking for my first rifle ( currently only have shotguns/handguns.) I want something that has a short barrel ( SBR or Bullpup). (don't ask why, it's just a preference) So i'v been thinking of getting either a PWS Diablo, or getting a Kel Tec RFB. I've been leaning towards the Kel Tec because of its uniqueness, cool looks, etc. If you were in my position, which would you get and why? One additional thing, whichever i choose I am planning on also getting a suppressor as well.

I'm fond of the RFB for its ability to let either a righty or a lefty shoot it...hard to find that in a bullpup...
For those who have cleared rooms/buildings/etc, the value of being able to switch over from right to left is HUGE...
Nasty little package that fires 7.62...and is American Made :D

I like the Kel Tec. I like the look of it better than a lot of other tactical rifles. I have never shouldered one, but having the magazine in the rear looks like it makes for a longer reach between the butt and the trigger. I am a big guy, so that would be a plus for me. Of course, these are purely cosmetic reasons, as I have never owned either rifle.

If you are considering a bullpup rifle, you really need to try one out before you buy if at all possible. Not just handle it. Actually shoot it if you can and do some magazine changes (both combat and tactical reloads), malfunction clearance drills, offhand shooting, etc.

Bullpup rifles are a triumph of engineering over usability. (And this is coming from and engineer. :D)

They look GREAT on paper, but when you actually try to use them, you find out they have several warts.

If you can adapt, you can use them, but they are less than ideal.

The best one that I have tried was the FS2000 but even it had some shortcomings.

You will notice that those countries that general issue them to troops do not have a strong tradition of civilian rifle use and that their elite units don't use them at all.

If you are going to be going SBR, suppressors are really nice to have.

@edink, I heard that the AUG has about an 11 pound trigger pull, plus I prefer the look of the keltec.

@Crow Hunter, -- So you wouldn't recommend the keltec if I ever plan on doing a three gun competition or something correct?

Anyone have any opinion on the Diablo for an SBR?

I have never even held a Keltec, so I am not really a good resource about that. But I have owned a fired several bullpups and the manual of arms is clunky for me compared to a more traditional rifle setup.

I recommend you try one out if at all possible. It might be that you actually like it better and can perform just as well with a bullpup as a conventional rifle.

I personally can't.

I had to really try it myself before I really understood it. Like I said, on paper they have all the advantages with no real disadvantages. Then you try it and you have a "Ah, CRAP this is annoying" moment. When that happens it is much better to be able to just hand it back to it's owner and say, "Cool rifle". :D
