I have been shopping around. I shopped about 8 different local stores and these are the best prices I can find. I am ready to buy but I just cannot decide.

I am willing to dish out the extra money for the Moss 590/590A1 if it is worth it.

The Remington is an awesome deal which makes me think that I should buy that BUT for some reason I like the way the Mossberg feels. Also safety location is better imo.

Thanks everyone for your help

Sell the pgo for $15-20 and buy ammo...
2 guns for the price of one...

Otherwise, it is a shame these companies sell ruff unfinished guns for a premium over their polished blue/walnut equipped guns...

The one above is $313 for a 2 barrel combo...

In reality, you could sell the long barrel for $65-75 bucks and have a walnut and shiny blue 18.5 HD gun for way under $250...

I have a Remington 870 and love it. It has the folding stock which is okay for packing it up when I take it camping but my preference is for a regular stock.

I kinda like the AR style stock that's available on the 590a1 but I think that either of these guns will do a great job for HD.

Go with your gut and get the one you feel most comfortable with.

hotdogs,

I like the one Budsgunshop has. The one on Mossberg's website (same product number) is a much lighter wood that is not as glossy (which I do not like).

Those pics are "for reference only stock images'... But the deails will tell you "walnut finish hardwood (birch usually)" or real "walnut"... I like to buy from LGS 'cuz I get to inspect it... I have turned down guns with less than "pretty" grain in the wood... I tell 'em what I expect and leave my number to call me when they get a nicer lookin' gun in...

I use the Bud's site for the ease of linking to description and an image...

I would buy one of the combo barreled 500's and keep both barrels. If you want to go out and break clays or hunt upland game birds you are set.

If there is absolutely no chance you will ever be interested in hunting upland birds or breaking clays then sell the longer barrel. You could always buy another one further on down the road.

If this is ONLY for HD, get the shortest barrel on your list which is the 870. I don't hunt, but some say they want a lighter gun for hunting. If you shoot clays a lot, it is the opposite and you generally want the heager gun. For HD, I don't think it makes any difference. Listen to Hogdogs.

Hey Man, it was the JFCS, heavy barrel Parkerizing, Ghost rings, Bayonet Lug, but a Knoxx on it and a light! You cant beat it for hard use and Butt-Stroking meaning use the weapon as a club!
