=============================================
Dear Friend,

Incumbent evildoer Congressman Jim Moran is in deep trouble.

The Washington Post has run a series of articles detailing Moran's
acceptance of a $25,000 unsecured loan from a pharmaceutical lobbyist just
days before he signed on to sponsor a controversial bill that could have
benefited the drug industry by more than 7 billion dollars over 10 years.

The editorial board of the Post, which just days ago endorsed Moran, has
slammed him for his acceptance of the money. A formal legal complaint has
been filed against Moran, alleging that the loan constituted an illegal
campaign contribution.

Best of all, the new scandal is giving the press a chance to bring up all
of Moran's previous personal troubles.

Moran, who has been quoted by the press as saying, "I like to hit people,"
had a reputation as a drunken street brawler while Mayor of Alexandria. On
June 23, 1999, Moran's wife, Mary M. Moran, placed an emergency call to
police during a domestic argument. The next day, she filed for divorce.

The day after that, Terry Lierman, then a registered lobbyist for
Schering-Plough, lent Moran the money, at below market rates and unusual
terms.

On June 30, 1999, Moran signed up to co-sponsor the eventually unsuccessful
bill to help the drug company extend its exclusive Claritin patent--and
keep generic drug manufacturers from encroaching on its business. On July
23, 1999, Moran sent a letter to fellow Democrats, urging them to vote for
the Claritin bill. Twenty days later, Schering Plough's political action
committee donated $2,000 to Moran's campaign.

Moran is a perfect example of how Congress has gone from public servants in
a House of Representatives to public serpents in a house of reprehensibles.
Moran has placed a glowing neon "for sale" sign on his character.

And its time to kick him while he's down!

By fortunate coincidence, my version of the Battered Voter Syndrome ad
began running on 8th district cable stations the day the story broke. There
is a delicious irony in running this ad against someone with the reputation
of Moran.

Unfortunately, I've only raised about $3,000 for the TV campaign. We have
the ability to buy more ads and more signs up until about 3:00 PM tomorrow,
Friday. And we can get additional printing done for a final lit drop done
as late as Sunday.

Can you help me kick a bad man while he's down?

A lot of Moran's soft supporters will be looking for a place for their vote
now. I want to make sure they come to me, and not the "bewildered" Green
candidate or the "empty rhetoric" Republican.

Please go to www.RonCrickenberger.com and give a last minute donation by
credit card to help our ad campaign.

But do it now. In 4 days, it will be too late.

Thank you for helping me do the hard work of Freedom!
