My Father came across a 32 auto, and we're trying to find out about it.....I assume it'sfrom 1930's or earlier,as it was my Grandfather's(who also had a 1934 mauser).here are the markings....
FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE
HERSTAL BELGIQUE
BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE
It also has what appears to be a nazi symbol(the bird holding the schuaztica(SP).....maybe it came back w/ him from WWII-he was in Italy....any help would be great..... :)

Probably a 1922 Browning

Does it have a grip safety? And a piece on the front of the slide that rotates out so the barrel can be pulled out and the slide removed?

Germans conscripted a lot of these guns after they rolled into Belguim in WWII.

This sounds like a Browning 1922, is this your pistol? The WW2 production of these had the wooden grips as on mine, earlier production would have hard rubber black grips. I suspect the value would be in the $150-250 range, depending on condition.
