Help in finding "punch" to remove trigger assembly I-12

Hello again,

Thanks for all the help before. I just got back from trap shooting and I'm trying to take out the trigger assembly of my Franchi I-12, and the manual says to use some kind of "punch" to remove that metal stick that keeps the trigger part in the gun. I tried using the back of my screwdriver to whack that thing out, but I have been unsuccessful. Any tricks or should I use a hammer (I hope not)?

I did take it apart to clean prior to the trap shooting trip, but I was also unable to remove the trigger assembly that time as well.

Thank you.

Does the Franchi trigger pin (metal stick) have a dimple in it to center the removal punch? How about whittling down a dowel (like a chop stick) to the size of the pin? Using a wood or plastic punch won't scratch your gun.

grind the point off a 10 penny nail ....and it'll work fine .../and then just keep the nail in your cleaning box .

You don't need a set of punch's - although they are handy and required for taking any number of guns down to a bare frame ( like handguns, etc )...

Or use a #2 wooden pencil point, or go to the hardware store and buy a brass punch, etc..................hundreds of ways to do it without mucking up the gun and its finish
