Help Identify This Colt

I recently remembered that my younger brother and I used to play with a pair of pocket pistols when we were kids. I found one of them, but I am unsure what the firearm is and what the history is behind it. I think it may be a Derringer 4th model according the serial number, but i am unsure. Serial number: 22301D
Any info would be appreciated.

Note: 4th generation means modern made in 1960s in .22 short instead of 19th century .41 rimfire. If it were absolutely pristine, it would have some novelty value, but it looks like you boys put some wear on it which really hurts the resale value.

89727 of the D suffix were made 1959-1963; yours was probably made in the first or second year of production. The gun alone tops at around $100, but if new with the box/book or other accessories, add maybe $150-200.

(Confusingus say, "Gun company that turns out gewgaws and commemoratives instead of real guns is in deep trouble.")

That was the first pistol I ever bought and 1st Colt I was 14 Bought with money from my paper route . My mother went to gun store with me in case of question. I bought it and box of 22's . No paper work in those days cash and carry.
I used several years later in trade for revolver. Should have kept it.
