Help ID this 7.62x39 ammo ...

I got this from AIM Surplus a few months ago and it works well. Unfortunately they don't have it listed anymore and I was wondering if it is the same stuff that Cheaper Than Dirt has listed as:

AMM636: This is high quality 7.62x39 ammunition. Made at the famous Tula Cartridge Works in Russia, very reliable and consistent. This ammunition is, non-reloadable steel case with non-corrosive Berdan primer, 7.62x39,122 grain, Hollow Point bullet 20 rounds per box,

While we're at it, has anyone used the "Silver Bear" nickel plated steel cased 7.62x39? I hate having to buy a case to see if it is any good.

Thanks,
Saands

if its made at tula, its most likely wolf brand ammo...they had simple paper boxes before they had thier current one. it is probly an older lot or something.

No, that is not the headstamp from Tula Cartridge works.

Theirs is something like a box formed from two arrows, with a 90 degree bend in each. I'll see if I can dig up a copy of it.

Regarding Silver Bear ammo - several posters on ak-47.net have said that it is more accurate than wolf, but does not leave the lacquer crud behind. But, this is only second hand info, as I have not yet had a chance to get any of my own.

Tula cartridge works

I have a case of Tula and the case heads are stamped tcw, for Tula cartridge works. This ammo is two or three years old.
