Help ID Old Walther .22 Hornet Model/Year

Please help me identify this Walther rifle model/year. I'd also like to find out if you know where I can get replacement parts for it.

Well, an overall picture would help but the "66" next to the proof mark gives me a sneaking suspicion that it was made in 1966. The 1967 Gun Digest (compiled in 1966) shows the Walther KKJ sporter available in .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .22 Hornet. $134.50 for the Hornet.
I don't know about parts; Numrich and Jack First show nothing at all. What do you need?

I have been offered an Old Walther Rifle in .22LR - works as semi-auto or the bolt can be locked down closed. pre WWII I think - can't find any pics in books - do not have pic jpeg to post sorry
BTW - for a .22 it very substantial battle type rear sight and detatchable 5 rnd mag
can anyone help on this my first posting

Walther made training rifles in the 1930s, as did Mauser, Geco, and about every other gunmaker in Germany, but they were all bolt actions.
I have not seen anything about the Walther Model 2 Autoloading rifle being used as such officially. I guess if you were a well off little kraut you could shoot it at your Hitler Youth summer camp.

The Walther Model 2 is a very fine rifle, not real common after 70 years. Beretta made a similar rifle in the 1950s.

because I've now located a second one in the UK
but can't find any info or pictures
magazines, spare or otherwise, are a problem I'm told
you mention a similar design Berretta -
I've got one of those too but not as well made as the Walther

They are very uncommon here, I seldom see one advertised, and have seen perhaps one or two in person at gun shows. Yes, detachable magazines for obsolete firearms are a problem. Triple K might make them. Quality is low, warranty is good. One shooter told me he got a serviceable High Standard magazine by sending the non-functional ones back for replacement until he got one that worked. Not convenient from your location. Still...

and as they're so rare I've bought the second one too.
You say you've seen one at a gun fair - can you recall approx how much in USD?

It has been so long since I saw one of those Walthers that I do not recall the price. They have probably appreciated since then anyhow.
All I have remotely related is a Walther .22 single shot sporting rifle.

Hello and Happy New Year

I collected the little Walther just before Christmas - it works as both a turn bolt and semi-auto
other than it does not have original mag is in great condition for a 1930s gun
very impressed by the way the action lifts out by pressing the end of the flag safety.
In my travels over the New Year saw yet another little Walther rifle - convention turnbolt only with scope and moderator - think its post war - put a deposit on it as we have to apply for variations to certificate for every gun.....
