I am a cop. This morning as I was about to leave for work, I stopped to check the messages on my phone in my driveway. I noticed a car that I did not recognize from my neighborhood go into and out of several driveways on my street. The car then passed by me heading out of my neighborhood. The driver failed to signal a turn twice and I decided to pull him over and check him out. Turns out he was looking for a construction site for a new home where he was supposed to report for work. He was (A) an illegal immigrant or (B) a guest worker. Well after I warned him about his driving I tried to assist him with the location he was trying to find but I could not really help him because I do not speak spanish and he REAaaaaaly did not speak english. He was a pleasant fellow and no trouble at all and I had no doubt that he was doing what he said he was doing bad english and all. I left it at that. The President says that they should be guest workers.... I know that there is someone who needs a construction job who is an AMERICAN, illegal ailiens are the jurisidiction of the Department of Justice, who work for the man that says they should be guest workers...oh well answered my own question...lose no sleep over it. As long as the Corporations and other employers can benefit by paying lower wages to guest workers then they can make larger profits and they will invest that money to spur the economy and create jobs and that money will tricle down to us right...just like the oil companies. They charge the most for gas ever in the last two years and make the largest profits in the last two years and give 400,000,000 retirement packages to thier CEO's but that money will spur the economy and will create new jobs and the money will trickle down to us. WE just need to be patient I guess.

Absolutely they are taking American jobs that Americans want. This whole spiel about them doing only the jobs American don't want to do is pure hogwash. Americans WANT to do them, just not at illegally low rates of pay which the corporations are able to pay the illegal workers. Nothing but a big gift to big corporate america, this whole soft-on-illegals crap. And a shaft to the American workers.

Brought to you by...

the Republican party and Corporate America...oops same folks. They tried this one before except the people were Black and they really paid them crap.

I don't recall the slaves paying coyotes, fording a river and walking through a desert to get here.

While you are being rabidly anti-Republican, I would hate to kill your buzz by telling you that thanks to the Bush tax cuts unemployment is at record lows. A couple of questions-just for the record-how many poor people have given you a job? Why would a rich person want to put their money into buisnesses that could potentialy lose them money and pay taxes on that buisness? They have all they money they will ever need, why spend it by giving you a job?

I don't remember that either. So I guess your saying that them being exploited by the rich at our expense is ok. That our tax dollars going to benefit another bunch of people who will eventually after being here for a while will decide that the wages that the rich are willing to pay are not enough to live on and will create the same problem as the forcefully imported people have created will be ok with you. I guess that will give you another class of people to blame things on to keep from blaming the super rich or the people that have created the rest of the problems for us. Thats the problem we are taught to worship the rich and hate the poor, at least those poorer than us. It takes a lot of welfare cheats to equal a Haliburton.

The difference is that they are volunteering to be "exploited" as you call it.

I don't hate the poor. What I do hate is the utter lack of ambition in this country. People like you just accept that rich people are going to keep them down and that you will never be able to rise above you circumstances, so you hate the rich. The majority of the "rich" have worked hard to get to where they are, why should they pay proportionaly larger taxes when they have earned it. Not to mention the fact that they employ large numbers of people. Just for that they should get a tax cut because they are increasing the tax base.

But you would prefer that we like in a socalist workers paradise where everyone makes the same amount. After all, if the wealth of those mean old rich guys was redistributed, you would get a fatter paycheck, right? It is all about greed.

you are so wrong. The rich I am am talking about are richer than you even know. They are people you will never know. They are people that people you know will never know and no they did not work hard to get rich they were born that way...your president, your vice president and so on. That is the myth in this country that you can to. I guess you think your less smart or less hard woriking than that 2% of Americans who own 80% of the wealth in this country. Do you even realize that 2% of our population on 80% of the wealth in this country? I do not believe their is anything wrong with hard work, done it all my life. I just believe that we should wake up and realize who it is benefitting. You need to do a little research and a little less FOX news watching and find out for yourself. But hey if your happy with it so be it but don't dis me for having a clue.

First off, I work at an airport taking care of private jets. I know vastly rich people. They are all self-starters execpt one. He inherited the buisness that his grandfather started. Before his father died he worked at the company, starting at the bottom. He still works very hard and takes very good care of his people. You have already stated that you do not know these people. I do. But somehow you are more knowlegeable of them than I?

Furthermore, I know that people can rise above their circumstances. My grandfather did. He was born dirt-floor poor. He worked his way into a few million. He may not be a Rockafeller or a Bush or whatever, but he improved his status-well above average-through hard work. Granted not everyone can do that because they do not have the work ethic. Therefore they do not deserve what my grandfather has obtained.

Thirdly-so there are increadibly rich people in this world, some who may not have earned it. Why does that bother you?

Simple but good.

And before you accuse me of being a spoiled rich kid, I will have you know that I intend to make my own money-the same way my grandfather did. Any inheritance that I may get will go untouched by my hands and hopefully those of my children. That is a matter of pride for me that I will make my own way.

In your eyes that may be meant as an insult but in relation to your views I might well find those comments to be a compliment...are you a neocon, are you a fascist? are you a right wing conservative christian coalitionist... I label myself as an average american who believes in the right of all Americans to enjoy the fruits of our labor...our labor being the cheapest commodity in relation to the benefit of the few in this country. You keep labeling me and you will keep keeping you and I down and the few will maybe appreciate you for it, maybe you can get an SS job.

FYI most Americans would benefit from a more socialist goverment.

this is another thread having nothing to do with guns.

just like the oil companies

I really, really want to give you the dozens of reasons about all the ways that this statement of yours (as well as pretty much the entire post itself) is wrong... by why bother? This is a discussion forum - topics are open for discussion. You seem to be too set in your ways to consider opposing thoughts and/or facts.

I read the opening post three times. It starts to say something, then changes in midstream to something else.

Closed for just stirring the pot.
