I'm new to the forum and posted the last question in wrong forum, anyway my problem is with a browning bl22 I just bought for my grandson someday, the finish is scarred and scratched pretty badly and i was going to try to refinish it myself my only problem is with the barrell band on the front forearm it has a pin in it and i wondered if i drive it out can i reuse the same in to put it back together? and also one sight said to drive it out from right to left or vice-versa does it really matter, andwhich side is rightas you look down barrell as if to shoot?

If the pin is tapered it will only come out one way. I can't say which way that is. You could reuse the pin without any problems. You might add a touch of red loctite to keep it in place. Try using a brass or nylon drift so you don't scar the pin.

thanks guess i'll just try tap it both ways till it moves, can't reallytell which side is bigger with my eyes anyway. thanks for info
